DeAngelis Diamond Jumps 63 Spots in ENR Top 400

DeAngelis Diamond Jumps 63 Spots in ENR Top 400

  • Wednesday, May 23, 2018 3:08 PM

Engineering News Record’s 2018 Top 400 Contractors list has been released and DeAngelis Diamond has climbed the list to #225, a 63-spot jump from last year’s 288 ranking. Every year, ENR ranks the top U.S. construction companies by their revenue from the previous year. This year’s top 400 earned a cumulative contracting revenue of $373.98 billion in 2017 – a 2.1% increase from 2016.

A study from “ENR 2018 Top 400 Contractors: The Market Keeps on Rolling” found that the domestic market is strong and growing with a 4.9% increase in contracting revenue, while revenue from projects outside the U.S. decreased 18.4%. Experts are calling this “one of the longest domestic upswings on record,” but note that the construction market is cyclical and competitive. Combine that with the shortage of workers and high supply demands, the industry is still a challenging environment despite tremendous growth.

In spite of these challenges, DeAngelis Diamond has continued to grow into new markets and market segments having recently added a Program Management Division and will open a Detroit office this summer. Over the past 22 years they have developed a diverse culture that attracts and retains team members by offering intentional training, leadership development, unique benefits, and above market-level salaries.

“This year has been filled with strategic growth, innovation and a positive customer experience focus,” DeAngelis Diamond Co-Founder, David Diamond, said. “We are honored by the faith placed in us by our clients to bring their project vision and goals to reality. What we do is build buildings, and we do that very well, better than most, most of the time. However, what drives us is the desire to develop authentic relationships and have a positive influence on everyone we meet. Thank you DeAngelis Diamond team members, our clients, design professionals, subcontracting partners, and community for joining with us on this journey. We are building some amazing projects together, developing meaningful relationships and having a positive impact on people’s lives as we do it.”

DeAngelis Diamond Holds Topping Out Ceremony for The Springs at Shell Point

  • Friday, May 18, 2018 2:17 PM

DeAngelis Diamond held a topping out ceremony for The Springs addition at Shell Point Retirement Community in Fort Myers, FL. This project includes new construction of a 28-bed, 19,700 sq.ft. memory support facility, as well as an interior renovation totaling 17,400 sq.ft. The renovation includes a kitchen expansion, 25-bed assisted living, new parking, new welcome center and an addition to the current activity wing. It also includes an exterior update of the existing building skin and roof.

This topping out ceremony marks the final dry-in of all the roofs on the project. As a thank you for all their hard work, Shell Point Retirement Community provided lunch for the subcontractors working on the building.

“On behalf of Shell Point and DeAngelis Diamond, we just want to say thank you for the work you have put in place,” Project Manager, Josh Beverly, said. “The building looks amazing; the property looks amazing. To date, we haven’t had any minor or major safety incidents, so you can give yourselves a hand for that. We appreciate you guys, thank you.”

100K Hours, No Incidents: TrustPoint Hospital Reaches Safety Milestone

100K Hours, No Incidents: TrustPoint Hospital Reaches Safety Milestone

  • Friday, May 11, 2018 1:42 PM

The construction of TrustPoint Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN has reached a major milestone – 100,000 working hours with no recordable incidents. In celebration of this achievement, construction management firm, DeAngelis Diamond, held a luncheon today for its subcontractors working on the jobsite. Lunch was provided by the 7th Annual BBQ Fundraiser, an event DeAngelis Diamond and ABEC Electric partnered on. The construction management firm ordered 250 lunches for their crew in support of the fundraiser, which benefits the March of Dimes, Nashville Rescue Mission, and St. Jude Children’s Hospital. This celebration comes at just the right time, as it is National Safety Week.

Safety is DeAngelis Diamond’s top priority and its safety officers work diligently to ensure every team member and subcontractor leaves the jobsite safely each day. DeAngelis Diamond requires all site workers to attend a site-specific safety orientation prior to working on the project. Their team members perform weekly site-safety inspections and weekly safety meetings with the entire crew. Safety officers perform monthly site-safety inspections that include a formal report. In addition, the safety department performs regular safety training for team members. All of this could not be accomplished without the participation of DeAngelis Diamond’s subcontractors.

“This huge achievement is a testament to everyone making the right decisions every day,” Project Manager, Kris Duran said. “There are a lot of risks involved in building this project – exterior skin on a two-story building, trenching for underground utilities, steel erection and working during winter months on scaffolding and uneven platforms – but our team is trained and more than capable.”

One of the ways the team assured success is each subcontractor had their own safety manager perform Fall Protection Training, site inspections, weekly tailgate meetings with their workers and submit a daily job hazard analysis in addition to the required DeAngelis Diamond safety training.

DeAngelis Diamond recently held a Topping Out ceremony for TrustPoint, a ceremony that erects the last steel beam on a project’s top floor. The hospital is slated to finish Fall 2018.
