The Eye Surgery Center of Elizabethtown project is a ground-up construction project that entailed building a state-of-the-art eye surgery center. Despite facing significant challenges due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, DeAngelis Diamond managed to complete the project in just 7.5 months, which is 1.5 months ahead of the contractual deadline.
The construction of the facility involved building specialized medical spaces, including surgical rooms, pre-operative and post-operative care areas, and specialized patient examination rooms. In addition to the medical areas, the project included the construction of support spaces, including administrative offices, waiting rooms, and restrooms.
The project team had to overcome significant hurdles related to COVID-19, including travel restrictions that made it challenging to procure necessary materials. Despite these challenges, the team worked together to maintain a positive work environment, both within the team and in the broader community. The finished project features high-end finishes and state-of-the-art medical equipment, providing patients with a comfortable and safe environment for eye surgery.
